Bacher FAPS 600
We currently have 4 FAPS' (Fully Automatic Printing Systems) installed at Stevenage. The systems have greatly increased yield and repeatability on standard product.
Two FAPS 600 POK (Practice Oriented Collimation) are installed in our outer layer copper photomechanical department and are used in parallel with our existing LDIs (Laser Direct Imaging). The FAPS is faster than the LDI, automatically aligning artworks to holes with great accuracy, and producing good results down to 75um tracks and gaps.
The other two FAPS 600 HIs (scattered light source) are used in our solder resist department for greatly improved accuracy over the old conventional exposure sytems. With the FAPS in place, we consistently achieve a good solder mask alignment with a registration tolerance of +/-50um.
